Following the recent release of The 117-Storey Treehouse, the masterminds of this popular series have produced another fun filled spin off with The Treehouse Joke Book. Written and illustrated by the dynamic duo Andy Griffiths and Terry Denton, there are 26 different joke categories for the reader to enjoy.

My two boys and I are fans of the Treehouse series and we have powered through the collection together. It was a nice surprise to receive The Treehouse Joke Book in the mail, it definitely helped to ease our Treehouse fix. Although some of the jokes were familiar, there were plenty of new gags for us to enjoy. A contents page provided us with an overview of the 26 different joke categories covered in this book. From animal jokes, knock knock classics, brain teasers and the hilarious look who’s talking section, this is one bumper joke book. With my children currently on school holidays, The Treehouse Joke Book proved to be the ultimate boredom buster during our school term break!

What makes the Treehouse series and this particular instalment of the books extra special are the amazing illustrations by Terry Denton. An incredibly talented illustrator, Denton dazzles with his lively sketches, zany speech bubbles, eye catching bold type and hilarious sign posts. These unique illustrations are supported all the way by the comical prose, which is age appropriate, but also appealing to the adults out there reading this book with their children.

There were a number of favourite jokes that my family and I earmarked. Here are some of our hand-picked favourites.
